Set up the U206A USB Link
Driver install and first-link check for the USB-link adapter on Windows and Linux.

What you need
The U206A enumerates as a standard USB network controller. On current kernels (5.15+) the cdc_ncm driver binds automatically; on Windows 10/11 it uses the inbox USB-NCM class driver — no download needed in most cases.
Verify the link
After plugging in, a new network interface appears (usb0 on Linux, a Remote-NIC adapter on Windows). Assign an address on both ends or plug into your switch — the link LED shows negotiated speed.
- Linux: `ip link` should list a new interface; `ethtool` reports link speed.
- Windows: check Device Manager → Network adapters for the new entry.
- Ping the peer to confirm the path is up before benchmarking.
If it doesn't enumerate
Use a rear-panel USB 3 port rather than a hub, check `dmesg` for enumeration errors, and try the other cable end first — most issues are power or cable related, not driver related.
